Stad. That can be anything: finding out how a certain sensor works,

University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam. For the first\r\nthree

how to make a graph from measurement data, what the influence of

years the initiative focused on measuring temperature and humidity.

Importantly, citizens develop their own research questions, analyze

the data together with professionals and discuss potential

implications. By doing so, the collective uses citizen science to

spread knowledge on both technology\r\nand climate change in the most

grass-roots manner possible.\r\n\r\nWithin the SCOREwater project,

Measure Your City was asked to expand measurements with soil moisture 
            
63
measurements and additional temperature and humidity sensors. Later in 
            
64
the project we will investigate whether it is possible to measure wind 
            
65
and light intensity as well; together with temperature and\r\nhumidity 
            
66
measurements this should allow for a modelling of apparent 
            
67
temperature. Apparent temperature as defined by Wikipedia is \u201cthe 
            
68
temperature equivalent perceived by humans1\u201d. By being able to 
            
69
model apparent temperature, an even more precise investigation of 
            
70
heat-stress is possible.\r\n\r\nAn important note here is that Measure 
            
71
Your City develops their own sensors, has developed their own data 
            
72
platform and uses its own gateways purchased from the Things Network.

As a result, much effort is put into constructing sensors that are 
            
74
reliable, low-maintenance and accurate. The latter is important\r\nfor 
            
75
COA as well, which intends to not only work on shared knowledge and 
            
76
understanding, but also use the data for policy making. To do so the

data has to be reliable. By deploying both these sensors and 
            
78
purchasing company-built sensors, we can compare the data to assess 
            
79
how reliable the Measure Your City\r\nsensors are. This is part of the

next stage of the project, and results will used to further develop
